Warrior Days!!

Every now and then, I come home to something random that my mom has found left in her house and she so kindly brings to my house so I can store it here. (thanks, Mom!)

Tonight, I walked in to this sitting on my couch: (well, along with 10 additional coats)... lol

So, I did what every alumni (that secretly wishes she was back in high school again) would do. I put it on and and proudly wore it around my house! =)

It's amazing how many memories flooded into my mind as I wore my Varsity Jacket. Those were days that were truly memorable and unforgettable!! I miss those days dearly, but can be incredibly thankful for the friends/parents/administrators that God placed in my life during those years. It's only after I've graduated that I realize how blessed I was to have been educated in a Christian school. I couldn't have received a better education elsewhere and I am truly thankful!!

I LOVE thinking about my years as a high school athlete... basketball, volleyball, cheerleading and softball. I think I'll have to blog about those times later... :)

So, in memory of my favorite school and in celebration of another homecoming... GO WARRIORS!!

Happy Birthday, Kaylee!

Have you ever seen SO many people in one small hospital waiting room?! Not only did we take up the whole room, the other waiting families had to find another place to wait. Woopsie!

We finally were able to meet Kaylee Ann Ketelhut at 10:46 pm! At 21 inches long, weighing 6 lbs. 10 oz, she was perfect. Jennifer did an incredible job and Christopher made it all the way through without passing out! :)

Jennifer and Chris... CONGRATS on your new names:
Mommy and Daddy!

Sailing Comfortably Numb

All my life, I've been a boating girl, but NEVER did I think I'd be a sailing girl! WOW - sailing is incredible!

I was fortunate to be invited on the Comfortably Numb for her final race of the Summer of 08. The team had been racing monthly and clinched its victory in yesterday's race! Following the victory, we enjoyed a fun celebration in the clubhouse where we even got to drink out of the well-deserved trophy!!

The boat was beautiful... ropes, ties, pulleys, levers, masts of metal, massive sails and ornate wood. It was calming, relaxing, exciting and exhilarating at times. All of the sailing lingo was new to me, but my favorite words of the night were 'jib' and 'tach'. If I heard the word, 'tach', it was the heads up to MOVE QUICKLY!! In fear of falling in the freezing lake, I moved swiftly and dilligently!!

It's amazing to think that years and miles of travel were done on boats powered by the wind rather than gas or a motor. (Realizing how spoiled I am!) Sailing truly gave me a new respect for the water. Hopefully, this won't be my last sailing experience! I'd love to get my hands on some of those ropes!

"House" Party

The fifth season of "House" started last night, which began this year's weekly "House Party" on 'Ketelhut Drive' (that's an entirely separate topic!). I'm not a big tv-watcher, but the fam likes House and it's just another perfect excuse to be with them. So, the crew came over, attempted to be quiet during the full hour of the season opener (did quite well, I might add), and we filled an hour of our night with an episode of Gregory House's smart antics.

However, the episode on tv wasn't quite as entertaining as the 'episode' going on in the house! LOL There was Cindy showing us her 'Soldier Boy', Chris' first time feeding Kaylee, which included the 'milk explosion', and more. There's never a dull moment around here. If we only had our own reality show... =)
